We planned a trip to NOLA, and made a point of passing through Laurel on the way back. We thought it would be cool to stay at the Buzzard's Roost as we had seen it on Home Town, and we really like historic hotels and buildings. We booked the Laurel, MS room (it faces the train tracks), and it's been one of the best hotel experiences we've had. If you've seen it on Home Town (season 7, episode 7), it's basically exactly like that. High ceilings, 3 large windows, table lamps, comfortable bed, and the pillows were so nice I actually ordered a set for our house (thanks, Troy!). The color palette and decorating is warm, inviting, and comfortable. The shower and sink have excellent water pressure, not the dribble you find in a chain hotel. The towels are soft, not the sandpaper you get at a typical Hilton. It's really hard to say enough good things about Buzzard's Roost. I think our only regret might be not staying for another night or two. Laurel is about 6 1/2 hours from home, and if we travel somewhere that takes us near Laurel again, we'll definitely stay at the Buzzard's Roost.

Very cute place, super clean, and nice location for walking to the shops! I would stay here again. The only downside is the train right next to the property. It went through no less than 4 times the one night we stayed. Thankfully I didn't hear it in the middle of the night, but it is LOUD and rumbles the entire building.

The room was amazing. The bathroom was awesome and the shower head had a lot of water pressure. It was was clean and had a nice mini fridge and microwave. I loved how the New Orleans Room was decorated. The common area was also very nice. The host was very accommodating and made sure our stay was amazing.

We Came to Laurel and stayed at The Buzzard's Roost because of our live for Hometwn on HGTV. The Laurel room was just as shown on the show, and it was such a cozy, comfortable space! Location of the inn was perfect, right in the hub of downtown Laurel, close to the Scotsman Mercantile and the Woodshop, as well as several restaurants. We took the Hometown Tour (by golfcart!), and got so much history of Laurel as well as a dose of good humor from our guide, Robert Hill. Just be sure if you have only one day in Laurel, it's not a Sunday, as most businesses are closed or have limited hours.

Perfection! Our family so enjoyed staying at the Buzzards Roost. Our room and the common area were beautiful, super clean, and they'd thought of every detail. The location was perfect for walking around and exploring Laurel. Troy was very friendly and helpful from booking to checking in and out. We also loved getting to hear and see the trains of the Crescent Line go by. If you're a Home Town fan, the Laurel room will not disappoint.

We enjoyed our stay in the New York suite. There was plenty of room for the four of us. Every detail is so well thought out. Our kids enjoyed the board games and snacks provided. The convenience of the extra kitchen space in the common area is such a nice and unexpected amenity. The room was very cool and comfortable, especially for a hot couple of days in July. The Buzzards Roost is a jewel in the heart of downtown Laurel!

Beautiful room with the most comfortable bed. It was so close to restaurants and everything we wanted to do! Also I had seen the episode where Ben and Erin remodeled it and it was awesome to see it!
